Taxi driver accused of ‘hit and run’ in Dundee A Dundee woman has told how she was left “shaking and sick” after being hit by a taxi in a busy street. Christine Fraser, of Downfield, said she was struck by a taxi while walking along in broad daylight before the driver shouted at her and drove off. Police have confirmed that they are investigating the incident, which happened on Macalpine Road on Wednesday. Christine, 41, described the driver as a bald man in a large blue car. “The first thing he said was ‘I didn’t hit you! Not sorry’,” she continued. “I was stood between two parked cars. The police said I should have used a crossing, but I’m 41 years old. I cross that road every week. “I was on my phone speaking to a doctor, but I was looking up and down the road. I didn’t even really get a chance to cross the road. He reversed right into my hip. “If my son had been with me, it would’ve been his head. “I was shaking after it happened, I felt physically sick.” Christine’s husband, Leslie, has called several city taxi firms but has not been able to trace the driver. “The guy did a hit and run,” said the 44-year-old. “My wife had just got off the bus, directly across from the Macalpine Road shops. “She was standing and the guy basically reversed into her. “My wife put her hand out onto his car, and he gave her verbal abuse and drove off. “She came home and was upset and crying. “She’s still in agony this morning.” Christine is taking medication but said the pain had become worse since she was clipped by the cab. Leslie said: “She was in a lot of pain, she had a good whack on her left hip. “I’m just glad my three-year-old wasn’t with her, or it could have hit him as well. “If the guy’s not seen an adult, he’s definitely not going to see a child. “Hopefully somebody’s witnessed it and will come forward, and they catch this guy.” A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that officers are investigating a report of a road traffic incident that happened on Macalpine Road, Dundee, at about 1.30pm on Wednesday.” http://www.eveningtelegraph.co.uk/news/ ... e-1.290747 |

So she stepped out from between two parked cars whilst on a mobile phone - yet in her mind the drivers to blame.
