Taxi driver 'racially attacked' in Hull city centre



A HULL taxi driver has allegedly been racially assaulted while working in the city centre.

The taxi driver, who is believed to work for 35 Taxi Ltd, is said to have been attacked while on duty, in North Church Side, between 3.15am and 4am on Sunday.

He suffered cuts and bruises to his face in the alleged attack.

Two men, both aged 24, have been arrested in connection to the assault, and have since been released on bail, as police continue their investigations.

Officers are now appealing for anyone with information to get in touch by calling Humberside Police on 101, quoting crime reference number DV/2176430

Police appeal after taxi driver assaulted

The incident is alleged to have happened during the early hours of Sunday when the taxi driver was taking two men home from Swansea city centre

Police in Swansea are appealing for information after a taxi driver was reportedly assaulted when taking two men home from Swansea city centre.

The incident allegedly happened during the early hours of Sunday at Heol Nant Bran, in the Birchgrove area of the city.

Police say two men had been picked up by the taxi at around 12.30am from the taxi rank near Yates pub in the city centre, when they asked to be taken to Birchgrove and Tonna.

Driver allegedly assaulted before men ran off

A spokesman for South Wales Police said: “While the taxi was stopped in Birchgrove an altercation took place which resulted in the driver being assaulted and the men running off.”

The suspects are described as being in their 30s, wearing work clothes, including dirty jeans, light coloured t-shirts and working boots.

Police said it is believed they had been drinking in the city centre on Saturday night.

Taxi driver 'assaulted by passengers after completing fare'

A teenager has been charged with GBH after a taxi driver suffered serious facial injuries as he dropped off his passengers at the end of their journey.

The driver, in his late 60s, was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow after the attack in High Road, North Weald in the early hours on Saturday.

Daniel Bibby, 18, of Playhouse Square, Harlow, will appear at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court today charged with GBH.

Two other youths were arrested and have been released on bail until June 2.

Police launch appeal after assault on taxi driver in Scunthorpe town centre


POLICE have launched an appeal for witnesses after an altercation between a taxi driver and another motorist in Scunthorpe town centre.

Officers say the incident happened on the taxi rank at the junction of High Street and Frances Street at around 6.30pm on Thursday, February 18.

A Humberside Police statement released today (Monday, March 21) said: "It is claimed the men had a disagreement after the taxi driver manoeuvred into a space on the rank, ahead of a privately owned silver Vauxhall Corsa.

"The driver of the Corsa is said to have got out of his car and assaulted the taxi driver, hitting him through the open window of his vehicle before driving off.

"The suspect is described as white, in his 50s, between 5ft 7in and 5ft 8in tall, of medium build, with heavy stubble and a light-coloured T-shirt."

Anyone with information in connection with the incident is asked to call police on 101, quoting crime reference number 2170311.
