Diss taxi driver jailed for sex assaultsA Diss taxi driver, who sexually assaulted three young females, has been jailed for 10 months by a judge who said he showed “no respect” towards younger women.
John Porter of Cotman Close, Diss, was found guilty of sexually assaulting the three victims following a trial at Norwich Crown Court.
Philip Farr, prosecuting, said that Porter had also made suggestive comments to one of the women asking for her to send him an explicit photo of herself.
Jailing him, Recorder Guy Ayers told Porter that the young women deserved to be treated with respect and not “mauled in a sexual manner: “Never once have you shown a moment of remorse or regret about the behaviour you showed to these women.”
He added that Porter wrongly thought it was banter but said: “It was nothing of the sort. It was designed to humiliate and upset.”
Porter was also placed on the sex offender’s register for 10 years.
Isobel Ascherson, for Porter said he was a man of previous good character and was hard working.
