i read this post loads of times, the more i read the suggestions ,the stupider it looks !!  who do these people talk to then ? how can anyone suggest "go back to base"? ffs

It doesn't actually state "go back to base" it states "report to base". That could mean letting the base know that you have cleared your job.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

I would have thought Veni Vidi ego Raptia was more appropriate in this case

Some of the suggestions make sense.

Some I disagree with but are doable.

But some are down right daft and simply not doable.

Close Sussex, but may I suggest:

1. 1 (funding from DfT dependent), 4, 6 (this is pretty much in place already), 8 (in many LA's this is almost covered as proprietors have to notify LA of who is renting within seven days), 10 (regular or random, by definition it can't be both unless it is "Regular AND Random in addition"), 11 (paid for by LA budgets not attendees or licensing fees), 12 (will not happen though as serious complaints would be hidden under reams of insignificant drivel).

2. 2 (lunacy), 3 (more lunacy) 9 (goes against presumption of innocence and would be abused).

3. 5 (licenced Driver at all times as clarified by the use by family rubbish ditched from the de-reg act). 7 (what rubbish, Hackney may have no Base and there are Driver/Operators in PH), 13 (would only work if Drivers were employees and not Self-employed and it isn't going to happen).

AH A SENSIBLE POST HOW UNUSUAL #-o

This group with sincere concerns would make a good ally for lobbying MP's government for changes in legislation, of course a meeting between them and organised cab Drivers would be immensely productive i suspect your organised views would be carefully listend to ................................but of course YOU have no organisation so are vulnerable to well intentioned but factually lacking pressure groups such as this .................oh well the THICKOS REIGN :D
