POLICE investigating the murder of a Rhyl shopkeeper are appealing for a taxi driver to come forward.

Amarjeet Singh-Bhakar, 37, died after being stabbed following an incident on Prince Edward Avenue, Rhyl, last month.

North Wales Police believe that a taxi had to slow down as it manoeuvred through a crowd of people on Prince Edward Avenue at about 3am on Sunday, April 30.

DI Gary Kelly, of North Wales Police, said: “We believe that a taxi had to slow down almost to a stop as it manoeuvred through a crowd of people on Prince Edward Avenue Rhyl at around 3am on the morning of Sunday April 30.

“The vehicle is described a saloon or long-shaped vehicle, light in colour similar to a Vauxhall Vectra.

“I am appealing for the driver to come forward or anyone else who may have information which could assist our investigation."

Contact North Wales Police on 101 or Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 quoting ref V061153.

If the driver was negotiating a crowd I suspect he was concentrating on his driving as to not squash anyone.

If he says to the police he was looking elsewhere he could be up for careless driving.
