locale of former premier league side Potentially key witnesses to an alleged attempted murder are being asked to get in touch with police. Detectives investigating an attack which left a teenager fighting for her life are appealing for cyclists and a taxi driver to come forward who may be able to help. The 18-year-old victim is understood to still be in an induced coma at James Cook University Hospital after suffering a bleed on the brain and multiple fractures in the assault in the early hours of Saturday, April 29. CCTV footage from around 2.50am on shows three men on bikes ride along Marton Road from the direction of Longlands towards Borough Road. They cycled past a man and a woman on the same side of the road of them, opposite Stoneacre car dealership. The driver of a yellow and black taxi is also captured on film, stopping after being flagged down by the same woman, and the driver appears to engage in a brief conversation with her before driving away. The cyclists and the taxi driver are urged to come forward as they may have seen or heard something which could help police inquiries. |
