"This is illegal as licensing laws state that taxis must accept any fare, however short or long, if they are displaying their ‘for hire’ sign and the fare is no more than four miles over the city boundary." Lazy journalism again. The driver must have been psychic as well if he knew where they were going just by looking at them whilst driving by. I quite often drive past fares (although I usually turn my light off) if I know there is a queue on our rank nearby. I believe if someone has had the patience to wait on the rank the least I can do is to have the decency to give them priority. |

Which Law says that? I am not aware of any Law that says you have to leave the Licensing area (or City Boundary). |
