Can a council legally force you to change your meter tariffs if there is a price increase, as you would be charging less than the maximum permitted if you did not?????????? |

I think some say you can, and some say you can't - I don't think it's in the legislation, so each council has their own position on it. But either way, there's nothing to stop you charging less than what's on the meter. |

I think some, maybe most, councils insist that taxi meters are set at the current tariff. Not quite sure how that would stand up in court.
Maybe for phone work it might be worth offerring a discount off the meter. Nine times out of ten I suspect the punters will make it up anyway.
