For those that don’t want to read the judgement the outcome is basically a firm can run ph vehicles from as many areas as they like from the same base, provided they have operator’s licenses in those areas.

The judgement is yet another step towards a national ph operator’s license, and in my view the rush to the bottom in terms of vehicle and drivers standards.

I’m just glad the spiv operator has got to pay their own costs which must be in excess of £200,000.

Oh, and this is why the Uber employment case is so important.

If spiv operators want to run 100s or 1000s of vehicles from all over the place, then they should be giving those 100s and 1000s of drivers proper workers rights.
