Waterway month for taxi drivers
27 January 2004
London's taxi drivers are being invited to swap their cabs for boats in March as British Waterways London, in conjunction with tourism businesses along its waterways, launches a month of special offers and discounts.
The London Waterways Taxi Driver Pass is valid from 1 to 31 March 2004 and includes offers such as free boat trips from Little Venice to Camden with Jason's Trip and free admission to London Zoo and the Museum in Docklands.
Taxi drivers who request the pass will also receive a series of leaflets with listings and information about areas of interest and attractions to visit across British Waterways London's network of canals, rivers and docks.
Nerissa Bryden, British Waterways London marketing executive, said: "London's waterway network is a fantastic place to enjoy a day out. We look forward to welcoming taxi drivers, and their guests, as they make use of the pass to discover London's waterways."
The pass is available by calling British Waterways London on 020 7286 6101 and entitles a taxi driver and up to three guests to take advantage of the offers listed on the accompanying information.
