Awaiting a police update as its looking like piracy issue at a well known problem club
Ah, yes, noticed the stuff on the Glasgow Unite Facebook page, but since police have obviously been turning a blind eye for a while, I wouldn't expect them to highlight the piracy issue and how that might have led to the incident the other night.
Anyway, here's some stuff from Unite in case anyone's interested:
On 22 April 2019 Glasgow Unite wrote:
Pirating was rife all over last night, and Sanctuary was no exception.
Taxis & Private Hire from all over congregated at the door, with the road impassable at times whilst the tell tale negotiating at windows took place.
Unusually, instead of driving by as normal, Police Scotland were parked up in a van adjacent to the chaos, looking on passively and unwilling to intervene on the illegal activities occurring in front of them.
On 2 July 2019 Glasgow Unite wrote:
Sanctuary still remains a hotbed of Pirating activity despite us detailing this on 22nd April.
The Police routinely navigate through the masses of PH assembled both sides of the road without so much as a sideways glance. This indicates to us that senior Police Officers are still of the belief the Branch are ‘grossly exaggerating’ the problem.
It can therefore come as no surprise when violence breaks out from a group who routinely break the law.
We have a feeling there will be further news stories relating to this location, therefore it’s hoped that Police Scotland urgently adopt a more proactive approach to public safety.

One or two interesting comments as well, the first one of which again raises the possibility that it was HC drivers who confronted the pirate. The second one says it was PHDs who confronted the 'pirate hire driver'
So assuming it was all PHDs involved, I suspect the Glasgow-plated ones think they have more right to pirate than a PHD with an out-of-town plate

There was a simple exchange of words. Black hack drivers told the south Lanarkshire pirate to beat it as he was clearly pirating and then he came back trying to run them over.
I would also urge the police to check his immigration status and possibly deport him (after serving his sentence for attempted murder).

If the police wants the video footage I have at all, fromnthe start whennthe pirate hire driver offered a customer £50 to take the customer to larkhall, and eventually took the customer on board and he noticed I filmed him so he started swearing at me and his friend who was a pirate hire driver as well jumped out his car and tried to attack us and verbally assaulted us and that when the police came over and asked him him to stop otherwise he will be arrested.
