Taxi driver denies teenager death

A taxi driver has pleaded not guilty to the murder of a teenager who was dragged for more than a mile after being struck by a black cab. Scott Poll, 17, of Wednesbury, West Midlands, was knocked down as he walked home from a public house during the early hours of 26 February.

Ghulam Hussain, 44, of Grange Road, West Bromwich, has also denied a charge of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been granted conditional bail and will stand trial on 10 August.

The father-of-six is formally charged with causing his death by driving dangerously in Hollyhedge Road, Alexandra Crescent, Walsall Road and Hall Green Road, West Bromwich.

He entered his not guilty pleas through an Urdu interpreter.

I wonder if he takes the interpreter along when he does his taxi shift?

I find it hard to believe that you can hit someone and then drag them along for over a mile without knowing they are somehow attached to your cab?

Obviously there is more to this case than meets the eye but perhaps someone from the licensing department can tell us why a person who doesn't speak or understand English is driving a cab and how many more people like him does this authority License?

It would appear that he also might be blind and deaf, considering he didn't hear, see or feel the attachment he had picked up along the way?

Perhaps he should start a company called Pink ******* and the customers could enter their destination in the Urdo friendly satnav in the rear and he could charge £80 for an 8 mile journey, the punter couldnt argue unless he spoke the lingo

well why dont you start a company called Pink ******** tell the customers to enter the destination in the English friendly satnav and you could charge £160 for a 4 mile journey, and the punter could argue with you, that is unless he didn't speak english

Forgetting the guilty or not question. How can ANYONE justify giving a person a Taxi license who clearly cant speak a word of the language, of the country he works in?

Sussex when you post these kind of statements, could you please acknowledge the source. I FIND that you are very selective with the material that you publish on TDO.
