The most obvious unanswered question here is totally ignored in the article... ](*,)

The committee heard that the man had been jailed for one year last month after police stopped his car and found drugs.

A man jailed after police found him with two kilograms of cannabis has been refused permission to drive a private hire car in Glasgow.

Bajram Hutra was imprisoned for one year last month as he was “concerned in the supply of” cannabis, the city’s licensing committee heard.

Police Scotland said he is “not a fit and proper person” to hold a licence and objected to his application. An inspector told councillors that Mr Hutra had also been found “in possession” of cocaine.

He said Mr Hutra had been reported to the Procurator Fiscal on two drugs charges in March last year. One related to the supply of cannabis and the other to possession of cocaine, the committee heard.

Police officers had stopped the applicant’s car and “could detect the smell of cannabis”, the inspector said. During a search of the vehicle, they “allegedly found two one kilogram bags of cannabis and a 0.75 gram bag of cocaine”.

Councillors were also told the applicant had been fined £400 and given six penalty points in May 2021 after “using a vehicle uninsured against third party risk”.

Officers had stopped his vehicle and found “that the driver was not in possession of a valid driving licence”.

Mr Hutra was not present at the licensing hearing.
