Wonder what he said, precisely? :?

But possibly the most important detail here is that he was caught by CCTV - presumably it's mandatory in Bolsover :-o

Private hire driver licence revoked

A private hire driver has had his licence revoked following a serious allegation.

A female passenger using a pre-booked private hire vehicle reported a driver for carrying out an inappropriate sexual conversation with her.

Upon receiving this report, Bolsover District Council took swift action and investigated, making the decision to revoke Mr Onyeka Ljeomah’s licence.

Mr Ljeomah was presented before the Licensing Sub-Committee on 16 January 2025 where the Sub-Committee took into account the received complaint. CCTV video and audio footage from inside the vehicle was made available to the Panel members.

The Panel listened to Mr Ljeomah’s explanation in which he said that nothing was meant by the conversation and that he was not trying to initiate anything with the passenger.

The Panel noted that Mr Ljeomah has been a licensed driver for a very short time and had only recently completed all the prerequisite courses including the Safeguarding Course.

The Panel’s decision was to revoke Mr Ljeomah’s combined Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Vehicle Drivers Licence with immediate effect in accordance with Section 61(1)(B) of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 in order to promote public safety due to the conduct of Mr Ljeomah.

Mr Ljeomah appealed the decision and it was heard at Derby Magistrates Court on 18 July 2025. Upon hearing the evidence, the Magistrates upheld the Council decision and awarded Bolsover District Council £1,065 in costs.

Cabinet Member for Licensing Councillor Rob Hiney-Saunders said: “This accusation was very serious and our officers worked hard to understand what happened. It’s good that that the evidence supported the accusation and the actions taken by our licencing sub committee.

“We have a duty to keep users of our taxis safe and in taking away this driver’s licence we have taken a step towards safer taxis in the district.”

It would have had to be quite serious, maybe requesting a kiss or joining her indoors for a coffee.

Thankfully, the fella isn't a problem for our trade anymore.

Was his license revoked on the grounds of stupidity?

He had very recently completed the safeguarding course but clearly had not learned the content
