John Walker the Ex Mayor of Sefton and a councillor, who represented a Ward in Crosby, is to be prosecuted on several counts of fraud. His wife is also being prosecuted on two counts of fraud.
One of the charges relates to failing to notify the Department for Work and Pensions that his wife, Catie, was receiving money for being a taxi escort, which would in turn affect his benefit payments.
Some might wonder at the gall of some of these councillors who sit in positions of power and pass judgement on others. If the truth were known it might easily be inferred that some of them are more corrupt than the individuals they pass judgement on.
If this person is guilty I hope he feels the full weight of the law, as there is nothing worse in local Government than a fraudulent politician.
