Not much here in the Lancashire Times, but it's based on a brief Facebook post without much information
But - and as per thread title - two of the three cars taken off the road had pretty unusual faults for spotcheck fails; particularly the tyre pressures. Three Pendle taxis taken off the road after failing checkshttps://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/n ... ng-checks/Three taxis were taken off the road during safety checks in Pendle earlier this month. The inspections were carried out by Pendle Neighbourhood officers, the OP Prosper Partnership Team, Taxi Licensing, and the DVSA to ensure vehicles were safe and compliant.
Of the 24 vehicles inspected, 21 passed without issue.
Three vehicles failed due to a fuel leak, a tyre below the legal limit, and tyres well below the required pressure.
All three were immediately prohibited from use by the DVSA.A force spokesperson said: "These joint operations are an important part of keeping passengers, drivers and other road users safe.
"We will continue to work together where appropriate to identify vehicles that may pose a risk and take action when necessary."
