Post subject:  Wolves LOs find 'high level of compliance' in holiday checks

It's a while since I've looked on Wolverhampton's twitter account, where they post details of compliance and enforcement operations :-o

That's because in fact there's always little in the way of detail, and instead lots of framing to spin things in a postive light irrespective of what's found

So, looking beyond Taxi Point's usual padding, I suspect the highlighted paragraphs below demonstrate all that's needed [-(

CROSS BORDER CHECKS: City of Wolverhampton Council licensing officers join police in several locations for Bank Holiday taxi and PHV checks

https://www.taxi-point.co.uk/post/cross ... -holiday-t

City of Wolverhampton Council licensing officers carried out joint compliance operations across the North West over the Bank Holiday weekend, working with police at several major taxi and private hire locations.

The council’s Northern Compliance Team operated alongside Greater Manchester Police at Manchester Airport, Cheshire Police in Chester and Merseyside Police in Liverpool.

Wolverhampton Public Protection said the partnership activity recorded “high levels of compliance across all locations”.

The operation reflects the cross-border nature of private hire licensing and enforcement, with Wolverhampton-licensed vehicles routinely operating well beyond the council’s own geographical boundary.

Wolverhampton has one of the UK’s largest private hire licensing operations, making enforcement activity outside the city particularly relevant to drivers, operators and licensing authorities in other areas.

No figures were provided on the number of vehicles checked during the Bank Holiday operation, or whether any drivers or vehicles were subject to further action.

So the language indicates that all cars didn't pass.

But 'high levels of compliance' could mean anything, and it's obviously spinning it to look positive. Of course, a newspaper headline could easily say something like "Three taxis taken off road in safety clampdown." Or something like that...
