HEADLINE: Thug is fined for religious rant at cops
A YOB who shouted religious abuse at police was warned he faced jail if he offended again. Ryan Savage, 21, was a passenger in a taxi and rolled down the window and shouted abuse to officers in Greenock in May.
At the town's sheriff court, depute fiscal Lindy Scaife said Savage, from Port Glasgow, also gave the officers the V-sign. Savage, who was fined GBP500 for a similar offence last year, admitted committing a breach of the peace by swearing using religious prejudice.
He was ordered to carry out 150 hours of community service. Sheriff John Herald told him: "If there is a third time you will go to prison."
