A salutary warning indeed,the FACTS are driving TIRED is MORE dangerous and in London drivers are FORCED to drive tired.We are doing all within our power to stop this obscenity,to the effect i will be in City Hall once again this Friday on this issue. ORGANISE EDUCATE AGITATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

What exactly will you expect those at the Town Hall to do about drivers who drive long hours, as it is surely their own responsibility. I applaud your efforts to attain better working conditions for your members HOWEVER I get the impression you are seeking to blame anyone other than your members for their own shortcomings. B. GA my members are told do the job or your sacked,the licensing authority has the responsibility to ensure a safe and secure industry,Hence medicals,road worthiness,crim checks,which the PCO vigirously enforce,and now they WILL be told enforce safe working hours.This danger to the public will not be tolerated.My members are in much the same situation as RAMBO ask for rights or enforce them,your out the door,a few stand up for their rights,most find an excuse not too.If they were told drink a bottle of scotch before you work or your sacked every one would go mad,but ironically this situation is worse! ORGANISE EDUCATE AGITATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Please do not hijack this thread with your moans and gripes about hours of work, this is a very important issue to you, which I can appreciate but drink driving is a huge issue on the approach to the festive season, start your own thread! If you are tired go home..... If you are drunk you dont know your own name let alone where you live!!! |

David no intention of hijacking your thread,but to me the issues are inseperable,one we talk about at christmas,ironically not the peak time for drink driving[thats hot summer evenings]the working time abuses are 52wks a year and result in many MORE deaths.Lets hope we can stop both abuses. iam lost for words after looking at that lets hope that this type of advert stops this happening to anyone else takes me back to when i was 18 and was going out with a girl whos gran was killed by a drunk driver who hit the bus stop she was standing in. what did a 75year old whos husband had been killed in ww2 flying lancasters do to deserve that from a twit who had to have a drink at the office party. |

How do you stop the tears from falling? I trust that no-one will mind but 've copied this thread to a Police Forum for no other reason than a reminder of the aftermath! I'm sorry but in my humble opinion this is a situation that we all need to address and work together to address I personally wish the child in pictures every sucess in life and if ever she should need a referee I am more than willing to offer one. I could go on but think its best for another thread. |

Jacqueline is one very brave girl. That would have hurt like hell. I am sure that seeing her pictures will help dispel any doubts that anyone may have about the importance of the job they are doing, driving people home after midnight on a Friday and Saturday night. |
