Left in the limo lurch

A teenage schoolgirl's hopes of travelling in style to the school prom were dashed after a Luton limo company cancelled her lift.

Putteridge High School student Nicole Weir, 16, and her eight friends booked their VIP vehicle more than four weeks ago, so they were hugely upset to find out the limo had been given to someone else and no alternative was available.

Now the girls are considering the not-so-glamourous option of taxis to get to their once-in-a-lifetime bash, as the hunt for another stretch car has proved fruitless.

With three other Luton school leaving balls and Royal Ascot happening on prom night, June 22, limos in the town are like gold dust.

The Cinderellas must go to the ball - and they can't possibly walk in high heels.

To be honest the limo op that was supplying this limo would have been breaking the law anyway but thats ok as she was getting it cheap which i forsee as being the reason she has no limo anymore, bloody shame that eh, NOT anyway yeah i hope she ends up bloody walking too, i have absolutely NO sympathy for them, check the company out first then these things would become far less of a problem in my eyes

people do expect more value for money than they are entitled to just after xmas my office got about 2 dozen phonecalls from a number of women organising a wedding in the summer basically what they wanted was for us to supply wedding cars cleaned polished and done up with the drivers in shirt and tie but to only charge them the taxi fare from the church to the reception ( a half mile journey) despite my suggesting they hire proper wedding cars they kept on pestering us with phone call after phone call asking for details of all of our fleet did we operate chrysler voyagers or something similar which they would consider posh enough etc etc drove me and my board operator round the twist because it would take 10 minutes to get them off the phone !
