Spot checks on taxi safety
USERS of West Craven's taxis can rest easy after spot checks revealed cars and drivers' documents are in good order.
The checks were carried out as part of a joint operation between the police and Pendle Council's taxi enforcement officer. A total of 13 private hire vehicles were stopped.
They were then taken to a local garage and checked for any defects as other officers checked that all the relevant paperwork was in order.
"The operation was good news for users in West Craven as, apart from some very minor defects on a couple of vehicles, all the cars were in good working order and the drivers properly licensed," said Sgt Andy Cartwright.
