the Police didn't turn a blind eye to the hundreds of illegal mini cabs touting for business all over the West End. |

I hope your not suggesting that the London Minicab trade is made up of 95% uncheckable foreign nationals who could be anyone? Surely not? |

So the bill for the illegal invasion of IRAQ looks like being extracted in blood. Note that the Polce were behind the game as usual, only luck and the outstanding bravery of the bomb disposal officer prevented a major tragedy! Note that the SCUM are now accusing the PH trade in London as being responsible, we will investigate whether fit and proper fits these statements! Here the cry back with the death penalty, well didnt know it had gone, remember the innocent Brazilian running for the tube getting SEVEN YES SEVEN bullets in the head at point blank range, whilst being restrained by four officers from our finest police!! What needs to be rememberd is that both PH and Hack will as usual be out in London tonight and every night providing the public with transport! Should we have gone into IRAQ??????????????????? Should we pull out now?????????????????????????????? ANYONE CAPABLE OF DEBATE????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Any guesses?

I suppose this is yet another expose of the deficiencies of CRB checks on individuals who have only been in the country a short time. Certificates of good standing appear to be meaningless in many cases so it brings into question whether or not they should be accepted at all? A certificate of good standing is not a legal requirement but this is the type of document councils are accepting as proof of fit and proper person when they cannot get a criminal background check. I suspect we might see some changes to this procedure in the near future. Regards JD |

I hope we will see changes in the procedures .................... few professions have the "public standing" of a doctor but taxi drivers at work and in their vehicles have closer access to areas the public gather. B. Lucky
