now it gets better - now a matter of public record as chairman of crt has apparently been served by sheriff officers, he apparently cant or wont pay his debt so credit union apparently had to get sherif officers involved.
credit union money is taxi drivers money - should this individual really be chairman of a taxi company?

Many people get into money problems, but only a silly person would refuse to pay a taxi debt to a taxi credit union.

Let's hope it's all a big mess up. :?

After checking out your information with the chairman , it appears your are correct.
The chairman does owe money to the credit union, and is behind with his payments, and is as present playing catch up.

The involvement of sheriff officers is a standard proceedure used by all loan companies and the chairman is one of many drivers in the credit union who have been contacted by them.

Now stillhoping, as to your question if he should be chairman ? well I think the chairman and the rest of the present committee should be judged on their sterling work in promoting central to being the number 1 taxi company in Edinburgh.( And may I add without bringing PH into the company.) And not thier financial situation.

Stillhoping, if you are going to try and discredit someone at least have the guts to use your real name behind your posts.

For those outside Edinburgh reading this post, this is another pathetic attempt to discredit those who stand up for the trade against Taylor /Thomson's crusade to destroy it .

I hope the chap can sort out his money problems.

Working a few busy nights might also help.

the credit union only uses this as a last resort preferring instead to work out new repayment plans with debtors - if this fails, they do then use this procedure for those who ignore correspondence, or who are unwilling/unable to restructure their loan.

Maybe all relevant correspondence should be published by the credit union, Ross, giving the exact dates and times and reasons for non-payment?

Then everyone might get a clearer picture of what went on with the chairman.

What is the plate number he purports to own or have a share in - if it is hiding you are talking, we seem to have waited a very long time for this information given your apparent new wish for glasnost !

Oh and should you not make the fasties people aware of your error - after all, it is not a wish to discredit colqhoun - he manages that all by himself.

A man who apparently is unable to manage his own finances to the point where a reluctant credit union is forced to call in the sherif officers...

and you, Ross, think that this man is fit to be chairman of a taxi company and thereby have some responsibility for the finances of its members when he can't manage his own ??

You get what you deserve Ross - there is no helping you !

What a leading light of our trade this Ross chap is.

He admits to being a homophobe, racist and a bigot (his words).

Now he thinks that a chap who has money problems should head up a taxi company, presumably with access to company funds, even if only directly the petty cash box.

Of course, under such circumstances such an individual wouldn't beef up his expenses claims, a few more disciplinary hearings, more company business expenses etc. I mean, wouldn't this explain the servile grovelling in front of the Regulatory Committee, agreeing with its policy when such a statement could have been made by letter. I thought it was because Colquhoun was just a crawler trying to protect his interests when all the time it was a necessary act to crank up his expenses from Central.

(I now expect Ross to come back and say that Colquhoun doesn't get Central expenses for "brownnosing" the council)

All perfectly acceptable to Ross of course.

You couldn't make this up, but this is the quality of individual "running" our taxi trade into the ground.

BTW I haven't laughed so much for ages.

yep, think you may be right, Jasbar.

I have heard that temptation may become all the more strong when a person has money problems - a simple scenario really - just "borrow" a wee bit and put it back next week - but next week never comes and then its a wee bit more etc etc - a good independent auditor is a MUST - but then again, I am not Ross and he probably would not be able to read a set of accounts even if they jumped up and bit him on his proverbial.

Now I am not saying the chairman of central has done this, but it is a familiar story heard by many, unless of course you are Ross with your head so far up the chairman's backside that you are unable to even hear him pass gas.

Listen thicko - try checking the other sites that he is still posting prolifically on before jumping in with your tuppence worth !

Like fasties - does not seem to have a problem posting there - maybe he just doesn't like the questions or, more importantly, the answers he gets on this site !!

It's the council who have the noose around their necks. And with each turn of the garotte it's your neck taking the strain Ross.

Now picture this scenario -

1. a guy has "supposedly " multiple taxi plates in Edinburgh

2. he is also chairman of "the most successful" radio company in Edinburgh

3. he wants to pay back his loan to the credit union, - that is, pay back the money he borrowed off other taxi drivers

WITHOUT PAYING ANY INTEREST !!!!

You couldn't make it up!

Needless to say - this "arrangement" has been refused by the credit union who are, quite rightly, insisting on all monies being repaid in full, including interest charges.

Oh, and just for you Ross - to date, he has not repaid one penny piece of either loan or interest.

That enough rope for you ?
