POLICE are appealing for witnesses after three taxi drivers were robbed in
separate incidents last weekend.
The first robbery happened in the early hours of last Friday after a taxi
picked up three men from Iver railway station.
The driver was threatened with what is believed to have been a firearm as
the taxi headed towards Slough. Shortly afterwards they arrived in
Osborne Street where the offenders grabbed the driver's takings and cash
from his wallet, totalling around £150. They then ran off towards Herschel
Street.
All three men are black, aged in their late teens or early 20s, and were
wearing dark clothing. They were last seen near Slough bus station.
The next day at about 4.30am, another taxi picked up two men from an
address in Maidenhead. The driver took the pair to Garrard Road, Britwell,
where they threatened him with a knife and stole takings of approximately
£150.
One of the men is described as white, aged between 18 and 20, with black
hair and a goatee beard. He was wearing a light-coloured hooded top. The
second man is of mixed race and was wearing a light-coloured hooded
top.
On Sunday at about 2.50am two men were picked up at Tesco Express in
Slough. The taxi took them to Station Road, Langley, where they
threatened the driver with a knife and stole takings of about £120.
One of the men is said to be white and the other black. Officers are
keeping an open mind as to whether the three incidents are linked.
