Two men wanted for attack on taxi driver

A LEAMINGTON taxi driver was repeatedly punched in the face after he stopped to collect a fare on Saturday morning.

The driver was called to a house in Haseley Close, Whitnash, where a woman had ordered a taxi at about 5.30am.

After getting into the taxi she got out again saying she needed to get her sister.

While she was gone two men approached the driver and asked him for change for a £5 note.

They hit him in the face three or four times then reached into the taxi and stole a bag containing cash.

The offenders made off towards fields near Haseley Close.

Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the Haseley Close area between 5am and 6am on Saturday morning.
