all my local petrol stations put there prices up at lunch time, even though it was on the news that duty would not be going up

Yeah, but you have to consider the refinery has to hire in some sherpa's and lama's to reach where you live. :wink:

Joking aside, you do know who the Shepherd of Ettrick was Skippy? :shock:

It was James Hogg, poet, writer and friend of Sir Walter Scott, one of Scotlands most famous writers.

Hence the railway took the name: the Waverley Line.

Fuel in the states is one pound sixty a gallon and they are complaining. Compare that to the UK where we pay five pounds four pence a gallon. It wouldn't be so bad if we drove vehicles that consumed one gallon every fifty miles but sadly that is not the case.
