Arrests over taxi driver attack
Three men have been arrested on suspicion of GBH after a taxi driver was
left with serious head injuries in a late night attack in Berkshire.
Shortly after 0200 BST the driver was approached in Station Road by a
group of men and assaulted.
The 37-year-old victim, from Caversham, was initially taken to the Royal
Berkshire Hospital, in Reading, and has been transferred to the JR2 in Oxford.
Det Sgt Emily Jarvis said it was a "completely unprovoked attack".
"Although this happened in the early hours of the morning there were a lot
of people around and I would urge any witnesses ... to speak to police
urgently," she added.
A 22-year-old Reading man, a 20-year-old Bracknell man and a
21-year-old Bracknell man are currently being held in connection at
Reading police station.
