I don't know if there has been an outcome to this trial but here are the opening exchanges. Personally I'm keeping an open mind about these events. ____________________________ Evening Gazette May 10, 2008, Saturday I DIDN'T TOUCH HER IN ANY WAY; Accused denies kidnap and sex assaults BYLINE: GARETH LIGHTFOOT A TAXI driver accused of kidnapping and sexually attacking a female passenger has denied any wrongdoing. "I didn't touch her in any way," Mohammed Saddique told a Teesside Crown Court jury yesterday. "She was being friendly with me, I was being friendly with her. I just drove. Wherever she said, I took her." Saddique, 29, is accused of keeping a 23-year-old woman in his cab against her will for about an hour. Instead of taking her to her Billingham home after a night out, he drove her to Seaton Carew and Hartlepool, say the Crown. It is alleged he reached over while driving, and indecently assaulted her three times and once touched her leg. He said there was no truth in the sexual allegations, and denied driving her against her will, locking the car doors or making suggestive comments. He was the hackney carriage driver who picked her up from Middlesbrough in the early hours of September 19 last year. He said the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, told him to drop her friend off first then take her to Seaton Carew. According to Saddique, she was not sober, changed her directions and acted strangely during the journey. "She said, 'Take me to the seaside.' She said we'd chat there." He claimed she repeatedly asked him to stop the car for her to go to the toilet. He said she repeatedly got out of the vehicle near houses in well-lit areas and got back in, before asking to be dropped off at Wolviston Services. With the meter reading pounds 32, she paid him pounds 10 and promised to pay the rest later, he added. The woman previously told the jury she feared the taxi driver would rape her and considered throwing herself out of the car. She texted a friend: "The taxi man won't let me out of the taxi. I dunno where he's taking me. Will you help me please?" Under cross-examination by prosecutor Tina Dempster, Saddique said the woman was lying, but did not know why she would do so. Saddique, of Crescent Road, Middlesbrough, denies kidnapping and three counts of sexual assault. The dad, whose wife was expected to give birth to their third child this weekend, said he received no complaints in his two-and-a-half years working for Binks Taxis in Billingham. Quote: hackney carriage driver who picked her up from Middlesbrough Dose a Hackney Carriage down in Middlesbrough have a seat in the front of the cab? Or is it a luggage compartment like up here in Edinburgh? Quote: "It is alleged he reached over while driving, and indecently assaulted her three times and once touched her leg."
If it is indeed, a luggage compartment, the driver would find it bloody hard to have "reached over while driving indecently assaulted her three times and once touched her leg." Anyone shed some light on this one?

![]() Ah well there you have it grandad, I wouldn't have asked if it was clear that it was in fact a saloon car. The hacks up here don't drive saloons and as far as I am aware, it's the same down in London. I know of one driver in Edinburgh who was accused of much the same thing, but the stupid tart forgot that she couldn't be locked in if the driver was in the back with her. She claimed that the driver climbed in the back and that she couldn't get out because the doors were locked - bullchit. The driver would need to have his foot on the break to keep the doors locked and he couldn't do this and be in the back at the same time. This little mistake got the driver off after being falsely accused. Oh and btw, you can guess what you like but it still doesn't answer the question. See if you can wake-up the other braincell that's rattling around in that head of yours.
