Everyone's suffering at the moment, last thing we need to do is turn the public against us. |

I haven't seen the LTDA proposals but normally people get taxis because they deem it a necessity or a convenience. Regards JD |

We can't fund the rise forever. Every time I fill up it's gone up another penny or two. Our fuel bills gone up about 70%, our fare review about 4% I can't see it making much difference to either party on nights when a lot of fares go £15 to £20 or more to Clapham or other regular destinations. In all honesty the majority of my passengers usually tip about a pound, all that will happen is the pound will turn into 50p. On the other side, it will be greeted by the usual headlines from the Evening Standard proclaiming another fare rise and how we're the most expensive cabs in the Galaxy etc etc which will in turn frighten passengers away. |

I know what you mean GBC, but we should try to grin and bear it for the meantime, like you say the Standard will slaughter us (what's new).Be better off with some kind of tax rebate, as it's never going to come down in price. |

We get the same b*ll*cks from the local press here. Fact is none of us can keep swallowing these costs for ever. |

In terms of public perception cab drivers are usually classed as greedy robbing ba*****s anyway.
