Cabbies earn praise
BLACK cab drivers proved they are providing an excellent service after gaining full marks from mystery passengers.
Dudley Council regularly holds spot checks on the behaviour of drivers and to check they are using their meters and charging the correct fares.
Over the weekend of May 31 and June 1, ten drivers were assessed and all were found to be courteous and charging the correct fares.
The council's taxi committee chairman, Coun Doreen Ameson, said: "We are delighted our hackney carriage drivers got top marks in this exercise.
"Our drivers are expected to carry out their business to high standards and it is reassuring they have passed with flying colours."
