For those who like to keep abreast of public spending on taxis, here are the latest figures from the Home Office. Spending by Home office officials is 30 times higher than when Labour came to power.

Figures from the Home Office show expenditure on taxis has increased from 30,000 pounds in 1997-98 to 900,000 pounds in 2007-08.
