Have a look at this, from PDF page 8, and see how many YOU can get right!!!

This is the way to limit entry into the trade & get QUALITY drivers!!!

Don't know about that Mr Brummie, but it would certainly weed out drivers who weren't au fait with the English language.

Q 11 is a bit confusing though, because there are two schools on the map.

I suppose it could still be worked out though.

..... 'au fait with the English language'

Surely, you meant competent in the English language, in the three disciplines of reading, writing and speaking?

Who is this 'au fait' and which part of England does she come from?

Well I suppose there's a certain irony in using a phrase originating from French in relation to a statement about the use of English, but I didn't appreciate the irony at the time.

Fay's certainly not from England, but she may be fae fife

A simpleton's course and far from adequate. I've yet to encounter a punter who gave me multiple choice options for their change. If an applicant doesn't know how much change to give from a twenty pound note without multiple options then they shouldn't be driving a cab. The paper is designed for an 8 year old and is an insult to ones intelligence.

It would appear there is a chasm between my opinions on quality driver controls and yours.

Regards

JD

My comments above were an exercise in extracting the urine.

Your comments are, of course, 100% correct.

Methinks it's the council that are extracting the urine.

This test is probably not designed to be difficult but some of our eastern european cousins may struggle a bit because the test is in ENGLISH. I think that this is the point of the test.

Good point!

So its like one of those verbal reasoning tests that they have for 11 plus tests for grammar schools then.

Except these are for the nonplused.

Me think you might have upset someone with that remark.

Have a look at the location of a member that joined the TDO membership today, Saturday, 5th July.

Lol

Would I offend you JD, by agreeing 100% with your opinion here?
