Last week the PCO really overstepped the mark. With an unprecedented and vicious attack on the cab trade, CO’s stood at the taxi rank in front of the palace and proceeded to put stops on cabs picking up from the Royal Garden Party.
The stops being issued were so ridiculous,( no smoking signs too crumpled and unautherised signage on tax disc holder)) that the stewards waved taxis away from the rank to stop the embarrassment to the trade, being dished out by these Gestapo type officers. Members of the public had to walk away from the rank to find cabs available to take them home.
This was a blatant attack on the trade from the carriage office in a vein attempt to discredit and disgrace us in the face of royal dignitaries and the public.
There is a time and a place for everything and this was neither the time, nor the place.
The PCO’s creditability has slumped to an all time low, with its officers being likened no better than low lives, and traffic wardens.
Peter Hendy has been at the helm for far too long and is now trying to merge the two tiers of the taxi trade into one, by constantly victimising A Licensed taxi trade he has no respect of or for.
It’s a pity this kind of operation isn’t put into affect on weekend nights at certain venues in the West end to stop Hendy’s Pirates nicking our work[/img]

Surely then the unions/associations should be sending in letters of complaint, and/or threats to black the Palace garden parties.

But if they were being stopped for such low level breaches of the rules then the cab trade should share the blame for not having things right in the first place.

In my humble opinion Sussex is right to suggest that cab drivers should be aware of the regulations. Doesn't the knowledge extend to knowing conditions of license?

so why, as a man, as one, didnt the whole taxi community, connected by phone, radio and everything else, take the day off?

when chaos ensued and questions in high places were asked the blame could be apportioned, maybe handing out leaflets to the "forced pedestrians" with the PCO's phone number on would have alerted the top men that they are few and you are many, not that spartacus bothered about that..

i dont care, im a private hire country yokel limo driver

Bit hard to let 25,000 drivers know in a couple of hours.

Feck me, for a moment I thought the CO's had turned up and executed people by way of public hanging!

So they issued some stops to the 'rent a shed' society.

Good.

I've never received a stop notice in my life, on any Taxi I've owned or driven, then again I care about what I drive and how it's presented.

If only it was that easy.
The London Taxi trade is too fragmented and will never get together while we have so many different associations.
They will never unite.
In the past when drivers have gone on strike, greedy drivers who work 14 hours a day( no offence GBC) who don't give a toss about there colleagues, ( no offence GBC)just laugh and get stuck in to the work.
My gripe was that this was not the place or the time to carry out this operation.
When the TOCU squad get into the touts they do it in back streets and undercover of darkness on monday nights when they got nothing better to do.

Its easy to criticise others GBC, and you have had a lot of practise, your arrogance and as self opinionated posts are sometimes laughable, but mainly quite sad.
As I have told you before, If you act towards your friends the way you talk to other drivers on Forums you will find yourself very lonely.
The difference between you and me is I only wish you the very best.

Really? :?

I had the impression that the biggest taxi union/association in Europe was based there.

Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Bla . . .

:D

All of this from a man who drives around London with a camera strapped to his hat.

Your paranoid, I'd seek help before you think Government agents are following you.

My three 9 hour evenings are still fine Thanks.

If you work more you're greedy? That must make me very lazy? :D

Lastly, how's your moaners and depressants unite forum?

Gone.

See Ya Mr A, I'll be the one heading North after 9 hours.

GBC
I can not understand why a cab driver is so pleased to see a forum of your peers go down. Perhaps its because the drivers on there saw through your self obsessed rubbish. It must have been frustrating for you to be constantly lambasted for your arrogant attitude.
Mind you I thought you were better under your persona as Tossa Bob.
Then there was Fred with his sad life as a mechanic on the knowledge.
As you are so good at changing your identity I have always wondered if you are infact a real taxi driver as your attitude towards your fellow workers stinks.
You know you can be thrown off Forums for having more than one ID!
By the way I have moved on from the handy hat cam to a front mounted dashboard quick cam.
Sorry to disappoint you GBC but none of my 6 sites are down, they are up and running nicely
BTW they are in a format that is free to use.
seeing as your such a fan of Mr Hendy I'll sent you some really nice photos of him with Ed and Len. I always thought you were married, didn't no you were so attracted to the older man type.
still it takes all types to make the world go round.
