| Post subject: | Liverpool to license new Mercedes. |
A spokesman for Liverpool council stated earlier today that the council will have no alternative but to license the new Mercedes seeing as how it conforms to the councils policy of the London conditions of fitness. Regards JD |

Can't understand why Liverpool council follows exactly what London does.

To be quite honest the Licensing department take are more guarded view than the person who who suggested they would have to license if it met the pco conditions of fitness. The licensing department are of the opinion that they will only make a decision if and when a vehicle application is presented. Regards JD |

Talk about being thick.... the vehicle has to be passed by the licensing committee..... for it to be passed somebody has to apply...... |

It's called having a written policy, in this case the minutes of a council meeting, which, if passed, will then be transferred into the council's HC licensing policy. It shows democracy in action & is far less likely to be challenged that a decision by a licensing officer. |

That is rather obvious to us. I don't even know if those comments were directed at my post but if you read it again the post is self explanatory. One person is saying, "if it meets London's PCO conditions of fitness then it will probably be licensed" another person is saying, "even if it meets the PCO conditions of fitness it still might not be licensed because it might not meet Liverpool's conditions of fitness"? In other words, as far as Liverpool is concerned it is not about the condition of the vehicle but its appearance. Regards JD |
