A Hackney carriage driver has had his licence revoked by Berwick Borough Council for operating illegally.

The driver, working in Newcastle, picked up a fare off the street rather than by pre-booked arrangement.

I thought thats what HC Taxi's were supposed to do.

I think this shows that both Berwick and Newcastle Councils are not content with the situation.

So what your saying is GA, is if Newcastle lifted the plate restrictions and charged a sensible rate for the licence they would not have this problem.
So what are you doing about it, lobby your council to lift the restrictions and get the price of a licence lowered

A Hackney carriage driver has had his licence revoked because he picked up a fare off the street! Have I mist the Point. I thought thats what HC Taxi's were supposed to do. Or is it different Up t-north passed Watford
