Taxi Driver Online

Merseyside Police is appealing for information following a robbery on Coulport close, Dovecot, in the early hours of Saturday, 21 June, 2008.

The victim, a taxi driver, had picked up two male passengers in Mitchell Road, Prescot, at about midnight in his taxi (a white Skoda Octavia). Initially they asked to be taken to Lyme Grove, Huyton and then to the Shell petrol station on Liverpool Road, Huyton. The journey ended in Coulport Close. When the taxi came to a stop one of the men distracted driver as the second passenger reached over to the front of the cab and grabbed the coin dispenser after assaulting the taxi driver.

Both men ran off towards East Prescot Road.

One of the offenders is described as white, aged late teens to early twenties, approximately 5ft 8in - 5ft 11in tall, slim build, dark hair and he was wearing a black Shell Diesel baseball cap and black hooded tracksuit.

The second man is described as white, approximately 5ft 8in tall, stocky build, late teens to early 20s, with a fair complexion and red cropped hair. He was wearing a beige top and spoke with a Liverpool accent.
