Who says there won't be a trade agreement? We will be free to make trade agreements with whomever we choose and whomever chooses to make one with us surely

Grandad is right - there would need to be a trade agreement - the question is would we get one on friendly terms or not?

I think those immigration figures from the other day are fairly important - sadly they're being ignored because they are embarrassing.

2/5th of immigration is from the EU

3/5th is outside of the EU and therefore something the UK government has control of.

Both sides are embarrassed about the figures - therefore they say little or what they do say goes unreported - because the mainstream media want the status quo

It still doesn't mean we won't get a trade agreement and I think we would get a relatively friendly agreement. With regard to the immigration situation it's always been scaremongering, that is one of the things people will use to make their decision sadly.

Yes, I'm sure we would get a great agreement, we'll get everything we want and it'll all work out fine.

Can you give me a list of 10 things that we make and sell into Europe and 10 things Europe sell to us?

No

well we buy European cars

we buy European wine

we moan about the euro but love the fact our pound is easily interchangeable and doing well against the euro.

we sell them our motor industry

we sell them our banks

I cannot think of an awful lot really

But I know if I want a ford Mondeo it'll be german made and I don't want my government putting any import duty on it - because that would be the UK government taxing me - when there's no alternative purchase here without the tax

so we buy more from the EU than we sell - but since we don't sell anything anymore that isn't a surprise

So if that is the case would it not be beneficial for them to have a friendly trade agreement with us?

Why - are we all of a sudden not going to buy cars or drink wine if we leave? cant see that being a vote winner.

We don't make those things ourselves - so is the UK government going to tax us more if it all gets nasty, because we'll be the ones that pay import duties. Cant see that being a vote winner.

I don't know what will happen, but, if things are going to cost more to import they better start telling people now or they may vote to leave

Toots, take a look at the other European countries who have trade agreements with the EU. If you want to trade with them you have to agree to their rules which include making a payment into the EU and accepting the free movement of EU migrants on their terms. And as the Captain has said, there may well be import duty to pay on goods. At the moment the import duty on cars from outside the EU is around 10%. This is added after all other costs, including shipping have been added.

I think that far too much emphasis is being put out re our trade within the E.U. They talk about the market being 500 + million people as if it is the holy grail, and yet you only have to walk into India to eclipse that figure one and a half times over. The rest of the world has in the region of another 150/180 countries out there (no one seems to know the actual number) to trade with. Wine from Chile is fine, as is New Zealand and South Africa, and if they do not sell cars belonging to BMW and Audi and water from France, then you will not see me crying. Think of what you purchase from these countries and then tell me what you cannot get/similar from somewhere else.

The Swiss seem to have managed without Trident and for that matter the EU, tag onto that the fact that their standard of living is better than ours, then it proves that it is doable - I would like a bit of that please, thank you very much. The only way that Cameron might possibly win his in vote is by FEAR i.e the Ruskies are coming to get you Or you will lose your jobs/jobless will go up, on both counts absolute b*ll*^ks.......he is as evil as Bliar.

That there ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ is the winner =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

Let the Ruskies come and get us, I'd sooner have Putin in charge than Cameron, Cameron is a coward and is looking after his own interests and not those of the UK.

The EU is a very dangerous place indeed, Putin has their measure in the Ukraine, he won't let them get any closer to Russia, if they do all hell will break loose, you mark my words.
