just got back from the Council election count and I have been re-elected. In a low turnout I polled 356 votes beating Labour who polled 320 votes. When I was elected 2 years ago I stood against the same labour candidate and the result then was 580 to 522. Which is a very slight increase in my vote percentage.
In the other by-election the Conservative candidate won with a landslide polling over 2/3 of the votes cast.
The County Council votes are being counted at 11.00.

So far the Conservatives have gained control of five councils while Labour have lost control of two
The Liberal Democrats have lost several seats, while UKIP has lost all the seats it has been defending so far
Conservative Tim Bowles defeats Labour's Lesley Mansell in run-off vote for West of England metro mayor

I think the writings on the wall UKIP are receiving their last rites

I was disappointed as we had elections for county council only but there was no independent candidate and only the green party were fielding a local candidate  and i certainly wouldn't vote for him amazingly he only polled 30 fewer votes than the labour candidate

so we now have a bloke from Peterborough in Cambrideshire representing Stamford on Lincolnshire county council  fat chance of him fighting for the towns interests

Well done Grandad, give them hell!

I think UKIP are finished, they've done their job and without Farage they are lost, we should thank them and move on.

Prosecuting Tory MPs. or Party Officials for wrong doings in filing election expenses is not in the Public interest.Has Cameron and Osborne along with the current Tory leadership put pressure on the PC. not to prosecute, again this stinks of corruption as they were found wanting by the electoral commission who fined them £70,000.
No one should vote to put a corrupt(dishonest) Tory party in charge of our future and country.
Vote for honest Jeremy.

Is that the same "honest" Jeremy who couldn't find a seat on the train and had to sit on the floor, even though plenty of seats were available, then backtracked his story to "we wanted to sit together"
The same "honest" Jeremy who wouldn't give a straight answer to the journalist yesterday as to whether we would "brexit" if we didn't get a good deal ?
