I heard Edd Milliband on the TV this morning going on about carbon capture plants that the government want to build.
I can't be the only one to think that the cost to build these plants at £22 billion could be the exact same £22 billion black hole that was found!

The IFS worked out that the previous "black hole" was made up of 16 billion of pay rises agreed after labour got in and 6 billion of spending commitments by the previous government

This 22 billion would be an additional strain on public finances which are already starting to spiral out of control

the big issue is that whilst some carbon capture schemes seem to have real viability such as those which would involve burying the CO2 (after convertion to algae) in the sahara or pumping it into young volcanic rocks in Iceland where it metamorphosises the rocks the idea of pumping into underground reservoirs is not as eventually it would leak out again.

Will these carbon-capture things capture the world's carbon or just the stuff we produce in the UK?

Has he planned a big old wall to stop other countries' carbon waste from floating to the UK?

Or is this just a load of old bo*****s?
