Post subject:  Should local elections be cancelled

So the government is considering cancelling the may local councl elections . Why? well apparently as the looming restructuring makes them irrelevant and nothing to do with labours current polling.

personally I think they should go ahead as it might be a year or two before the larger unitary authorities are set up. What does everyone else think

I am due to be a candidate in the Leicestershire County Council elections so they had better make their minds up before I start spending on my campaign.

Any new changes will not be in place soon, so delaying any elections this year would be an act of cowardice from this Labour government.

Didn't we have EU elections after the Brexit vote, about one year before we left?
