I've been reading through the 1995 DDA which was amended by the 2005 DDA and there seems to be several sections that could blow a coach and horses through a councils restricted numbers policy. This only applies to those councils who have saloons vehicles as hackneys. It would appear a survey is meaningless. Relevant sections 21 and 49 as amended by the 2005 act.

I would say that's the majority. :shock:

That's a vaild point, and it would have been even more vaild 10 years ago when the DDA was in acted.

But then, as is the norm, the so-called leadership of the UK's taxi trade were late for the party. :-$
