I havent heard you come out with one valid point for de reg,can you tell me you honestly think its for the good of the trade ? If so you really are past help mate.Try and see how many hours a day/week you work here to make a living ,then throw another 50 plates on and see then .Get real mate

So the plates are only worth £30k now then?

And coupled to that high quality fleet of motors that Doom so admires as the product of restricted numbers?

Here they are, and that fleet is only going to get even better when nobody can afford even a £3k car isn't it when all those new drivers arrive, put it down son, you had your day, you know your motive isn't pure and something else hangs on you getting your own way.

He thinks 30k is a lot of money for a business, even if you sold it by the time you pay the Capital Gains Tax on it it still won't buy much more than a Mondeo, are you seeing them now Blackpool, they are simply aggrieved that someone else might have something they don't, there's no fairplay motive with them, they feel excluded and seek to destroy anyone who gets in their way.

Best part is if it did go their way they'd be tailing it out within 3 years broke, this is what they can't see, open it for all, and all will appear and come in, you just can't tell a beginner the trade is over supplied and they will struggle, they will still come and try, I can't wait for boom time again, I think there will be a mass reduction in PH as people can get a job they really wanted to do, if there was a lord of fairness only people who want to be drivers would ever apply, we get lumped on everytime there is a slump.

It's not supposed to be for the best interest of the trade it is supposed to be what is best for the public. Personally I don't think derestriction is in the best interest of the public due to the over abundance of vehicles polluting their air, causing problems because they have nowhere to rank up, taking risks with repairs etc because they haven't earned enough to keep on top of things. There are lots of reasons why derestriction doesn't work and lots of reasons why restriction doesn't work either. What seems to be the impossible task for anybody to work out is what the happy medium would be

The public arent really that interested, they just want a cab when it suits them. They see the few hours late at night not the tuesday afternoon. On the other note this is a 'taxi' forum so im not going to lie ,i do this job to earn money, not for the love of the public .

Prefer the look in their eyes as you catch them after a runner

I wasn't meaning the public being interested I was referring to 'in the public interest'. That is what the council do because the public don't appear to be able to take their own interest to heart the council do it for them

All the public is interested in is prices, lower the better in their eyes, so low they'd moan about a quid for a 3 mile ride, my area proves it, they ignore us because they know the 4 seater ride is cheaper on PH, but the kicker is they still ring for a 6 seater and the PH 6 seater is more expensive than us.

If there is any improvement to be had it's the council sets the rate for all, and all have a meter, and campaign to let the public know they pay no more than the meter and to ensure it's on, that way it comes down to service and convenience.
