I see this thread has now nearly 19000 views.

It would make you think the likes of OFT are looking at things again.

I think the point of interest has probably reached its pinnacle. The DfT are aware of the facts, or they should be aware of those facts?

However, TDO has accomplished what no other entity has accomplished by supplying these facts. And what pleases me is the fact that the DfT tried to emulate TDO's practice of naming those councils who have and haven't changed their policy.

It amazes me how much effect this website has had on Government bodies, local councils, the judiciary and the certain Taxi magazines lol

If you want the facts there's only one place to go and thats TDO.

Kinda rhymes.

Regards

JD

As this thread has over 21,000 views I thought I would bump it as JD has updated his restricted numbers list. =D>

JD's restricted numbers list 07/05/09

It's also interesting to note that the latest edition of PHM (four years after JD started his) has it's own quota list.

Shame it's not that accurate.

I don't mean to go on about this but our council still appears to be missing from the list :?

Yes

I will give you the history of JD's list.

In May 2005 the DfT wrote to the 146 councils that they believed still restricted taxi numbers, following the OFT report.

The 146 was in fact 151 as they missed 5 councils that still restricted, but thankfully we had JD to point that out to them.

As Wirral had delimited prior to the OFT report, they didn't make it onto JD's list.

So in May 2005 we had 151 councils out of 343 that restricted taxi numbers.

In May 2009 we have 88 councils out of 343 that restrict taxi numbers.

I thought it was a list of limited and de-limited councils that's why I expected it to be in the de-limited section. Oh well I'm still prone to blonde moments
