its ok to have a badge everybodies friend, some battles are there to be fought like the battles your customers have looking for a cab whilst you are [edited by admin] about ranting to Watford papers.

Get ya facts right Dime Bar, I didn't go ranting to the press they came to me because I was from outside the area and they asked me a few questions 2 paragraphs I think, so there you have it. At least losing a days pay doesn't bother me, you forgot to mention Mercury FM the local radio station who interviewed me outside the station or did I forget to tell you that one???? :D :D :D :D Never mind I can't be perfect all the time :D :D :D :D

OUT OF 200 OR MORE TAXI DRIVERS THEY MANAGED TO FIND YOU?
Remarkable.

I don't know Mr Guest, you seem to be very nieve when it comes to "customers looking for a cab", the whole reasoning behind the H/C trades argument is that this doesn't happen enough. You see demand FOR customers far outweighs demand for cabs.

You seem blissfully unaware that deregulation leads to drivers working more hours, in most cases I'm aware of, for less money. So you seem to put a higher price on customer satisfaction than you do for public safety, and that is a discrace.

No wonder you post as a guest,

B. Lucky

Mick,
this afternoon went to the rank early, did a few jobs then hit thay quiet patch so got out the sunday papers,

a bloke got in the cab, where too Gov?

The Green then onto Whickham, wheres that? Gatehead bingo! I thought I can go and see my pal Mick!

well off we went got to the green only 2 hours, he nipped in and my fingures were crossed that he hadnt done a runner, 15 minutes he came out with a brown enverlope then to Whickam.

got my fat fare and a good tip, youve got them well trained, and hit the centre to find a rank, eventually found one not that many cabs were my observation, parked up, got a cab with 3 drivers playing cards I am looking for a friend Mick Pollard, cab driver? all seemed none plussed

looked around did so want to show you my hackney and license!

thought I may have found you and met you,

dissapointed to come back without saying hallo

not fighting for the trade, but fighting the trade
committed to the trade Nige? no wanna get out

Again another comment worthy of guest status.

How on earth can any individual fight with the trade and get away with it, come and talk to drivers in Gateshead, go and talk to drivers in Mansfield and see if they believe people who are willing to stand and be counted are fighting against their best interests, in fact talk to drivers in any deregulated area but I would warn you to adopt a different approach than you do when your on here, or you would see fighting.

Have the courage of your own convictions and put your name to your words as by your comments you are of no consequence.

B. Lucky

I work an area where limit by numbers have been abolished

been to Gatehead today to talk to drivers. though admittedly had my way paid in full.

well you in particular, youve said this b4 Mick I said I would come and talk to drivers remember?

you said ok then withdrew.

talk to drivers in a abolished by numbers zone every night.

deregulation? if its a problem then get some more regulations in.

opportunities are there? the lads I spoke too were enjoying thier card game, and did not want troubling.

rEMARKABLE nIGE rEMARKABLE

tell me more about ctn and mansfield sorting out Watford station, you say only four taxis went, suits the argument about leaving mansfield short, though is this your best effort to help Watford?

In all fairness, I would love to know where the delegation from Brighton, Southampton, Eastleigh, and the other branches from down on the south coast went.

Cos they didn't make it to Watford.

Perhaps it was a bit cold. :(

its a bad omen, black ribbons on ariels are to signify respect on the death of a fellow driver.

still, suppose they need some trophy.

I see they are organising a mass lobby of OFT in London.

poor Nigel that means that week hes got Watford and London in a single week.

this could be dangerous, unless of course that Gatehead branch are organising it.

Oh how easy it is to pass comments as a guest!
You can say anything you want one day, then change it the next and claim it wasn't you!
How pityful!

Yes how pitiful "Charlie the Paperlad". There's a touch of the night about you Mr Angel. You condemn others for posting as guest and then don your Mr Hyde persona and do exactly what you are accusing others of doing.

What a sad, sad person you are?

Some people have adopted an "I WANT, I DEMAND" attitude but what they forget is that, although that is their right , other people share the same rights to state exactly the same.

Agh! "EQUALITY" I thought you said you've had enough of equality? I suppose Mr Angel you like to pick and choose your particular brand of equality? Typical of the man who advocates equality in the above sentence yet advocates the exact opposite when it comes to numbers control.

Quote:
The bottom line here gentlemen is that the government realise that this trade works best in areas where there is a two tier system in operation.

Do they really? By two tiers I suppose you mean where Hackney carriage licenses are restricted? The whole of the UK has a two-tier system does it not? So you mean the Government realise that the Hackney carriage trade works best where licenses are restricted? And where they are not restricted the Hackney carriage trade doesn't work well at all? Sound thinking for a trade union rep. I wonder why no one else thought of that?

Well its been and gone! Didn't you really mean to say that you will be quitting this trade on the first of March and starting back on the second of March? lol

JD mate, trawling back 12 months ago shows how your struggling for argument.

I have already said that I'm openminded when it comes to change and view the trade differently than I did 12 months ago, you on the other hand are not willing to change your opinions as you learn more because you believe that no-one on here can teach you anything.

I left the trade in March 2004, to start my own business, for around 4 months I didn't have time to contribute but as I still retain my driver badges I still care passionatly about the trade, indeed over the xmas I returned for a short time and doubled up with a couple of mates of mine.

The trade has given me a lot, I try to return the favour by giving something back, because of this I hate people who just take from it, specialist solicitors canvassing councils as a "taxi" specialists are in my opinion worse than leeches.

B. Lucky :D
