Wouldn't it just be better to end taxi quotas instead of p***ing around like this?

I have one question.

If the PH vehicles are available why are the offices not taking BOOKINGS FOR THEM.

I understand that is the direction in which they are heading. I expect them to be number 91 on my list when they finally get around to introducing quality control lol

this is one thing i cant never understand about ideas like this. Surely the PH offices (well any worth working for) are going to be fully booked at chuck out times on a saturday night?
i should imagine that those PH drivers who work for offices that dont get bookings at peak times, and are now avalible to stop for flaggers, where probably doing it before anyway.

I have to agree that not only private hire offices will be busy at that time of the evening/morning but our own Hackney carriage circuit is also busy. Is it the case that the private hire drivers would rather pick up off the street than service their own customers? I suspect a great many would.

We experiance a great deal of illegal plying for hire here in Manchester especially at weekends. My experiance tells me that the bulk of illegal plying for hire in Manchester is done by the asian P/H drivers. They are really blatent with.

The scenario in Blackburn would never occur in those areas that understand current legislation. I'm surprised the council solicitors gave acquiescence to the decision.

Unfortunately JD, there are many PH drivers who are too short sighted as far as servicing their customers go. for example, i have seen many drivers from other companies pick up any random person after getting a no fare or no being bothered to wait any longer. this short term gain does long term damage, as they are leaving the next person on the list who has booked with them, waiting even longer.

i often get asked "if you cant find your fare will you take me?" i always say no, as i know i have customers who have booked with us waiting. (and of course it would be illegal for me to do so) if you let down a booked fare you can be sure they'll ring elsewhere next time.
