Does anyone have any up to date information regarding the current situation with this mobile booking office in Cardiff?

Regards

Now I know what I am about to write seems daft but there is a legal way around this, they could use a trailer, as long as its attached to a vehicle and park anywhere that's legal, or get a burger van and do it that way, and make money both ways, or even a camper van, there is nowt to stop you parking on the street with one of them as long as you don't go to sleep in it, mind you the Welsh are not all that bright when it comes to thinking things through

The mobile booking station is up and running every Friday and Saturday night from 11pm till 3am.

After the first weekends shenanaghans and after meeting with the council it is now situated opposite the Millenium Stadium in Westgate Street (no double yellows and no bus stops) and has been for a good few months now.

Very popular it is too, espeically with people going out of town because all fares taken are on the meter, so they cant get ripped off by the black and whites who charge anything up to double what it should be ! (not all hc mind, but definately the more "colourfull" of the trade shall we say)

I dont really approve of mobile booking offices however, having seen my brother what I considered ripped off (£40 for a 6 mile journey) by one of the HC's then I cant really say anything good about the HC trade in Cardiff.

One thing that springs to mind is Cardiff City Councils "conditions of licence", it clearly states, condition 4, that a licenced operator shall inform the council of the address of it's licenced premises and obtain planning permission as neccesary, i'd love to see the face of a planning officer when an application for planning permission consent comes in for a mobile address
