Well strangely enough, I see this biting the arse off the PH company, we have been told, and we all know that us drivers can spin a yarn or two, that this PH company have tendered less than £1 per mile, I can see lots of very unhappy PH drivers having to travel in peek traffic doing a school run of a mile.

They'll get the contract & worry about the rest later.

In Brum PH companies are running at 90p a mile on cash work & less than that on contract work. And I'm not talking about round trip mileages, I'm talking pick-up to drop.

As regards the one mile or short journeys, if you have enough quality work within that global contract, the PH comapies will put on larger vehicle & swallow up the short journeys within a planned run that will take the short journey on board enroute to drop offs on long journeys.

It's all about planning & when you have large PH companies with larger vehicles, they will breeze those short runs without problems & still keep within the statutory maximum time limit for these children to be on board a vehicle transporting them to or from schools.

What conditions do hackneys in your manor have that don't apply to PH?

My choice of word was not correct i should have said better enforcement.
There is a difference though all new hack licences have to be wavs.
