Not quite true, this same man has gone to great lengths to get the driver back on the road, and has been very positive in his actions, the car has now been licensed in time for the weekend so thanks to reasonable dialogue between the parties a solution has been found.

I've heard of this before, and it's ridiculous.

There are Kia Sedonas on Wirral PH that have got BLACK windows.

There is also a VW Eurocab hack that has really heavily tinted windows. On the VW, the windows are so heavily tinted that it looks like a black panel van.

Personally, I would say that heavily tinted windows are unsuitable for taxi / PH vehicles, but you have to be reasonable about this. There is slightly tinted and then there is BLACK.

I think most cars made today come with slightly tinted windows.

Sounds to me like York licensing are indeed playing with a new toy and whilst the're messing about fellas are out of work.

- Personally if I were a licensing officer, I'd rather see a 57 plate with tinted windows than a 5,6,7 year old car of any sort.

Did someone from Scotland show them rule 20 in there rule book   or could it be the court case in Darlington, that also was pointed out to them   , or the threat of the peugeot garage taking legal action

well I may have gone over the top with that claim

what i hear that has happened is that the Head of Department came out of his office and looked at the car, he wanted all the windows changed, rear side windows through to the rear, including the 2 1/4 panels on each side near the rear plus rear glass, they failed to see the roof, which is all blacked out glass, it has been agreed rear passenger and rear screen to be changed only

its a safety issue just incase someone is getting attacked in the rear, so any one of the public can see whats going on and come to their help

they have licenced the vehicle for 3 weeks only

if you carefully read the licence conditions it clearly states
"This condition will not apply to tinted glazing fitted by manufactures to vehicles when new"

re the post (why would you want tinted windows)maybe this fife cabbie has a reason,
mr simpson is acused of a murder in dundee which happened over 20 years ago the case is currently on going at edinburgh high court

the extracts

(Once they reached the interview room he would have been asked for further detail about some of the information he had given the day before, prior to a statement being compiled.

Mr Kirk said that, at this stage, the accused told them he had masturbated in his taxi.)

(Mr Kirk said Simpson’s statement had then gone on to relate how he had stopped his car near the junction with Coupar Angus Road and started to masturbate.

He continued to do so while driving along the Coupar Angus Road. He said he normally used tissues when he climaxed but he did not have any that night and used his taxi cash bag instead.

When he went to put the bag on the dashboard he got sperm on his hand and switched on the car’s interior light to wipe it off.

Shortly afterwards he switched the light on again to check his trousers.)

another statement mentioned he often masturbated in his cab, next time im in a fife cab im just letting him keep the change
