E7..........It's still a joiner's/plumber's Van with windows..!!!
Old one yes, new one not so sure.
The new version is a converted pickfords removals van.
At least the
NEW E7 can get the skis in at the airport for the winter holidayers!
And you can remove the back seats out if required for that larger load
And no I dont need to get one my Skoda will be suffice
![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Even if you remove the back seats the rear is still not long enough for 3 metre lengths of copper pipe ..... so no good for my other job as a plumber.
And it's also too short to fit an 8 x 4 sheet of plywood, chipboard, blockboard or plasterboard ..... so no good for my second other job as a builder either.
![Laughing ](./images/smilies/lol.gif)
And what if you got if you remove the back seats ???
Yep a van....look my point is simply this..
I do not agree with LTI overcharging for their vehicles but, the london hack is and always be a Taxi ! has been for 50 years or so.
Conversions will never emulate the iconic look.
They're like any other vehicles, some bad ones and some good but they still are the only ever purpose built Taxi.
The LTI TX4 may be the only vehicle built as a taxi ..... agreed.
Unfortunately the world has moved on from the 1950's ..... vehicles are now built so that they can be used for several purposes.
The E7 and it's derivatives are the future for the taxi trade. They are large & comfortable for the passengers & that's what they want & like; they're not bothered about iconic ..... except if you are a Japanese or Yankee tourist.
The whole idea of doing the job is to transport passengers in comfort & these larger vehicles do that, far more so than the LTI vehicles do or every will do.
