In our borough if you are not being paid at the end of the journey i.e it is all account work you don't need a plate but you do need appropriate insurance. I also know that there are going to be some changes so not sure if it will still remain that way when the changes are made

It needs to be licensed ............... but not all councils insist on a plate being affixed. The 76 Act refers to a plate or disc to identify the vehicle is licensed. However dispensation to any signage has been granted by many local authorities so I refer to my first point .............. that the vehicle only needs to be licensed. B. Lucky

All vehicles operating under 'hire and reward' need a plate/disc. However the act allows some vehicles to hide their plates. But the driver should always be showing his badge if he is taxi/PH. Maybe this vehicle is running under restricted PSV, which although allows mass murderers to work 'hire and reward' must have a PSV disc in the window. |
